Damdama Lake, Gurgaon


Damdama Lake has located about 29 km from the Gurgaon district in the state of Haryana, India, this lake was built by the British in 1947 to store rainwater. The water level in the lake rises to about 50 feet during the rains. At present, it has become a picnic spot, where people come to celebrate their parties. In addition, it has also become a training center for the corporate team, for team building exercises. This lake is the largest lake of Haryana, which is spread over about three thousand acres. Many adventure sports are also held in the lake, in which foot boating is the main one.


The best time to visit Damdama Lake is from September to March. However, it can be visited during the monsoon also. But during this time the water level of the lake is high. Many endangered species of birds can be seen between August and February, the main ones being kingfishers, cormorants, and the lake turns birds.
